What Is Cryolipolysis?

What is cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis is a body contouring technique that works by freezing the subcutaneous fat tissue to kill fat cells in the body, which in turn are then ejected using the body’s own natural process. As a modern alternative to liposuction, it is instead a completely non-invasive technique that requires no surgery.

How does Fat Freezing work?

First, we assess the size and shape of the area of fat deposits to be treated. After marking the area and selecting the appropriately sized applicator, the gel pad is placed on the skin to prevent the skin from directly contacting the cooling surface of the applicator.

Once the applicator is positioned, a vacuum is created, sucking the fat bulges into the applicator grooves for targeted cooling. The applicator begins to cool, lowering the temperature around the fat cells to around -6°C.

The treatment session can last up to one hour. There may be some discomfort initially, but as the area cools, it becomes numb and any discomfort quickly disappears.

WHAT ARE THE TARGETED AREAS FOR CRYOLIPOLYSIS?

• Inner and outer thighs

• Arms

• Flanks or love handles

• Double chin

• Back fat

Treatment area size: Smaller areas of the body, such as the chin, often show results faster than more significant areas, like the thighs or abdomen.

Age: The older you are, the longer your body will metabolize the frozen fat cells. Therefore, older people may take longer to see  results than younger people. Your age can also impact how quickly you recover from soreness after each treatment.
